Phone call from Jay Bridgeman. Arrived safely after leaving at 5am from Santo Domingo to border town Jimani. There is already a relief organization there, but they need doctors. OS team meeting with this group to determine if they will join efforts.
Jay called from regular US Verizon phone. Texting via phone and via blackberry seems most effective for communication-- although Jay isn't able to get my texts to him. Texting does not require that a link be up at the moment of sending... text will be sent when link is up later. Phone calls require link to be up at that time.
