I have receive several texts from Jay's cell saying "message from (his number) deleted." Not sure whether he is trying to text to save battery power on his phone, I spoke with Verizon. Until January 31, all rules regarding calls to and from Haiti are suspended due to the disaster. Phone calls coming from Haiti will only be charged like a regular call from the US-- and calls made to Haiti will only be charged the same. Texts are not allowed under this exception. Since Jay and I have free mobile-to-mobile minutes, it should be free for us to call. This exception will end January 31st.
Also, there was a new post on the Operation Smile website last night. Not much new information but yet another confirmation of what we've heard.
